Zdravko Zovko (born May 25, 1955 in Kolibe Gornje ) is a Croatian handball coach and former handball player .
Career
- as a player
The 1.83 m tall Zdravko Zovko played for RK Medveščak Zagreb . With the Yugoslav national team he won the bronze medal at the 1974 World Cup and the silver medal at the 1982 World Cup . At the Olympic Games in 1984 he was Olympic champion. In Los Angeles, he scored four goals in six games. He played a total of 119 international matches .
- as a trainer
As a coach, he was in charge of RK Zagreb from 1990 , with whom he was Croatian champion and cup winner several times. His greatest successes were the two victories in the European Cup in 1992 and 1993 . At the European Championship in 1994 and at the World Championship in 1995 , he led the Croatian men's handball team to bronze and silver. With the Slovenian club Celje Pivovarna Lasko he won the championship and cup in 1996, 1997 and 1998. For the 1999/2000 season he returned to Zagreb, won the domestic double and reached the final in the EHF Champions League 1999/2000 . From 2000 he coached the Hungarian club KC Veszprém , with which he won six championships and five cup wins. After the missed title in 2007, he had to make way for Lajos Mocsai . Then Zovko took over the Croatian women's team ŽRK Podravka Koprivnica , which he looked after until 2010. After a three-month stay at TSV Lohr mediated by Vlado Stenzel in spring 2011, he took over the Russian women's team Zvezda Zvenigorod in May . Since his sacking in April 2013, Zdravko Zovko assistant coach of Slavko Goluža in the Croatian national team.

Zdravko Zovko's brother Željko is also a handball coach and former player.
