Zvonko Bego (born December 19, 1940 in Split , † August 13, 2018 in Krapinske toplice ) was a Yugoslav football player .
Career
societies
Zvonko Bego played from 1957 to 1967 for Hajduk Split in the Prva Liga , the top division of Yugoslav football at the time. In third place, he achieved the best placement with his team at the end of the 1960/61 season . At the end of the following season he was the fourth most successful goalscorer with ten goals . He crowned his last season with the club cup , which was won with a 2-1 victory over FC Sarajevo .
After arriving in Germany, he was briefly a member of the professional squad of Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich in the 1967/68 season , which he left for the Netherlands in December 1967 without a competitive appearance . In the first division club FC Twente Enschede , however, he was only used six times in the 1967/68 season . He made his debut on December 17, 1967 in the 1: 2 defeat in the away game against DWS Amsterdam ; he scored his only goal on April 15, 1968 in a 2-2 draw in the away game against ADO Den Haag .
Then he returned to Germany , to the regional league club Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In the Regionalliga West he played 17 point games in the 1968/69 season and scored one goal. He then completed a season in Austria for SV Austria Salzburg , with whom he emerged as the winner of Group B6 of the Intertoto Cup competition in 1970 and is one of a total of 13 winners. After this season he returned to Yugoslavia and was still active in Sinj for the local NK Junak and in Klis for the local NK Uskok before ending his football career.
National team
Bego was part of the squad for the Olympic football tournament in Rome in 1960 , but was not used in the tournament. He played six international matches for the senior team and scored two goals. He made his debut on November 19, 1961 in Zagreb in a 2-1 victory in a friendly against the national team of Austria ; he scored his two goals on December 2, 1961 in Hong Kong in a 2-1 victory over the Hong Kong selection with the goal to 2-0 in the 60th minute and on December 7, 1961 in Jakarta in a 5-1 victory over the National team of Indonesia with the goal to the final score in the 82nd minute. His last appearance as a national player was on December 14, 1961 in Tel Aviv in a 2-0 victory over the Israeli national team .
