Water supply association for the Hohenberg group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The water supply association for the Hohenberggruppe (ZV-HBG), based in Meßstetten, is a supraregional institution. The purpose of the association is to ensure the drinking water supply for the population on the Heuberg .

history

The Heuberg water supply group to the left of the Danube was founded as early as 1886 to ensure the drinking water supply for numerous communities. The former hammer mill in the Bäratal was the central pumping station of the newly founded water association, whereby the water pumping to the Alb plateau was still carried out exclusively with hydro-powered pumps.

In 1954, bottlenecks in their own water supply forced other municipalities to form the water supply association Hohenberggruppe to ensure the public drinking water supply. This happened on September 9, 1954 in the Harmonie inn in Geislingen . At that time the following founding members were:

In the course of time, other municipalities joined the Zweckverband, so that the Hohenberg Group now has 28 members, including 26 cities and municipalities, a Zweckverband and a GmbH.

Due to the increasing industrialization and the connection of further members, the water demand increased again. In a third expansion stage, the Neidinger Mühle waterworks in the Danube valley was opened up from 1973 . With this construction measure, the supply situation in the Stetten akM and Meßstetten area could be significantly improved.

On January 16, 1979, the two special purpose associations Hohenberggruppe and Heubergwasserversorung to the left of the Danube then merged in Schömberg.

In the Danube Valley, the source of the large smith's fountain was made usable with a minimum discharge of 200 l / s. Together with the springs in the Bäratal, the water requirements of all group members could be met again. In 2013 a new company building was built at the Hammer waterworks. In 2020 a new waterworks will be built in Beuron - Langenbrunn .

Water supply

The water supply association Hohenberggruppe supplies 28 cities / municipalities and the Kleiner Heuberg association with drinking water.

The structure is divided into two different levels of care. The so-called B-members are supplied 100%, the A-members are only supplied when required or only in districts (own water resources).

In total, a reference rate of 262.5 l / s is specified. The highest subscription rates have:

City of Meßstetten: 43.6 l / s
City of Spaichingen: 27.0 l / s
Municipality of Stetten akM: 26.8 l / s
Small Heuberg Association: 26.6 l / s
City of Albstadt: formerly 23.5 l / s
Wehingen municipality: 14.6 l / s

Planning

Albstadt is no longer to be supplied by the Hohenberg Group. After the shutdown of the Neidinger mill, a new line from the Ehestetten waterworks from Ebingen to Meßstetten is planned, which will ensure an adequate supply of extinguishing water. Even if all wells of the Hohenberg group fail, a complete supply is then possible.

A new waterworks is being built in Beuron . In order to ensure the supply in the event of pollution, Zepfenhahn is connected to the lines of the Lake Constance water supply at the Sonthof in Rottweil .
