My name is Scott F. After receiving a letter in 2000 from Sir Richard's Office in, I believe, Summer 2000, I contacted the Gentleman they said I should contact in regards to selling Virgin Cola (TM) here in The U.S.A., so I did. This Gentleman stated that Sir Richard had no intentions of selling Virgin Cola (TM) here in The U.S.A.; therefore, after more letters and a simple business plan at their request, they made it clear that they had no intention of selling Virgin Cola (TM) here in The U.S.A.. In Spring of 2002, I registered Virgin Cola (TM) Limited Liability Company here in The U.S.A., and I filed a Trademark Registration Application about that time for Virgin Cola (TM) and FEED THE WORLD-ONE DAY AT A TIME (R), and a bit later for Sed-Laser (TM) Seltzer (R). I feel that to actually end the deaths of 27,000 children from hunger and hunger related diseases someone will need to pay the bill for that work to be completed. I was totally open with Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Management Limited and Virgin Enterprises Limited too for that matter. I was a Pepsi-Cola Salesperson for ten years, and I was then with Snapple Beverage Company when Cadbury Schweppes took over, so it is clear exactly what errors Sir Richard and Virgin Drinks have committed over the years, and why they can not achieve any market growth. I have sent Sir Richard, His Company Chairperson, and His Chief Legal Council about 150 letters over the last ten years, and overall they are a very nice bunch of people, but I sincerely allege that because I am a "YANK", they have no real interest in working with Me (In Cockney Rhyme-English slang-"Yank rhymes with septic tank."), and that is how they treat US YANKS from My ten year experience of Virgin Management Limited and Virgin Enterprises Limited. Sir Richard Branson is actually a very fine Gentleman, but except for promotions and rockets, He is pretty much retired, so He has very little interest in the drinks business; therefore, I have no problem with Him-I even recommended Him for a Doctorate at My College (Rutgers University) last Fall 2007 because I felt it would be an excellent fit for both parties with His new Virgin America Airline and His fuels' research project. It just made sense to unite Them. One of My key goals is to actually end hunger, and Virgin Cola (TM) Limited Liability Company is a very quick way to reach that goal; hence, I pray that Virgin Management Limited and Virgin Enterprises Limited will just get out of the way of feeding the World for once and for all. I wrote in My essay to Rutgers University about Sir Richard Branson that future students will read about the part that Sir Richard Branson played in ending Worldwide Hunger. It is completely up to Him whether it will read "Yea." or "Nay.". "AMEN. SO MOTE IT BE. Amen." "FRIENDSHIP, MORALITY, AND BROTHERLY LOVE." Thank You. Kindest Regards. Scott F. Virgin Cola is a carbonated cola soft drink produced by Princes limited. It was launched in 1994.

History

Virgin Cola was set up during the early 1990s in conjunction with Cott, a Canadian company that specialises in bottling own-label drinks. Cott was looking for a major international brand that could have global appeal.

Virgin Cola was first released in 1994, to compete with Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Shortly thereafter, Pepsi changed the colour of its cans to blue. When Virgin learned about this they famously took out a full page advert in many newspapers on April Fool's Day claiming that they developed a new can that turns blue when the cola inside is flat.

In typical Virgin jokey fashion, when first launched the 500ml bottles were marketed as "The Pammy", as their curves were designed to resemble Pamela Anderson who was at the height of her popularity in the UK at the time.[1]

Within a few months of its release, Virgin Cola had a 50% market share in the outlets that sold it. It went on to be launched in France, Belgium, and South Africa. In its first year more than 500 million units were sold worldwide.[citation needed] However, its popularity soon waned. It is also served on Virgin Atlantic flights and sold in the on-board shops on Virgin Trains. The Gulliver's Kingdom chain of theme parks in the UK also sells post mix Virgin cola.

In the United States, a national roll out was planned for 2005, six years after Virgin cola had first been launched in the UK. For the launch, Richard Branson rode into New York's Times Square atop a tank, promising a battle with Coke and Pepsi. Virgin Cola flopped, however, and disappeared from the US market almost immediately.

Virgin Cola was also sold in Bangladesh.

Company

Virgin Cola USA is based in Los Angeles, California and is a division of the UK-based Virgin Trading Company, a division of the Virgin Group of Companies. Headed by internationally known entrepreneur Richard Branson, the Virgin Group consists of more than 150 worldwide companies in retail, travel, investments, media, entertainment, merchandising and publishing. Among the various companies: Virgin Cola, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Cinemas, Virgin Direct, Virgin Helicopters, Virgin Holidays, Virgin Limobikes, Virgin Megastores, Virgin Net, Virgin Publishing, Virgin Rail, Virgin Retail, Virgin Trading, Virgin Hotel Group, V2 Records, Storm Model Management and the London Broncos.

Virgin Cola launched in the United States during the summer of 1998 and competes directly with the industry giants. Virgin Cola, a premium brand cola, offers an alternative quality choice from a decidedly different company. The company has a unique marketing advantage in the cola industry due to its extensive brand reach with its sister companies that include Virgin Atlantic Airways, V2 Records and a worldwide chain of pop culture music Virgin Megastores, among other Virgin products and services.

Virgin Cola Regular, Virgin Cola Diet, Virgin O'range and Virgin Lem 'n' Lime are currently available in nine major U.S. markets - New York, Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento and San Diego - in the first phase of a nationwide rollout. Virgin Cola is available through convenience stores, up and down the street channels and several larger supermarket chains.

Virgin Cola USA has production facilities on the East and West Coasts, and uses an extensive network of beer and new age beverage distributors throughout Virgin Cola's target markets.
