Dollar Tree is an American operator of low-cost general stores. The company's headquarters is located in Chesapeake in the US state of Virginia .
history
KR Perry opened a general store in Norfolk in 1953 . As of 1970, K&K Toys grew from one toy store to over 130 on the east coast of the USA . In 1986, five stores named Only $ 1.00 were opened in Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee . Seven years later, the company name changed to Dollar Tree . In 1995 the company went public on the NASDAQ . The following year was Dollar Bill $ from Chicago adopted in 1998, the Californian 98-cent clearance centers and 1999. Only $ One Stores in New York . In 2006 the 3,000th store was opened.

Dollar Tree operates more than 13,000 stores in 48 states and 5 provinces in Canada under the names Dollar Tree, Dollar Express, Dollar Bills, Only One Dollar and Only $ One. The Family Dollar chain , the second largest of its kind in the USA with 6,000 stores, has been part of Dollar Tree since 2015 . In addition, numerous multi-price shops are operated under the name Spain's Cards and Gifts .
