history

Hansen Natural was founded in the 1930s by Hubert Hansen and his three sons. Monster Beverage was founded in 1997 by Rodney Sacks and Hilton Schlosberg. Since 2012 the name of the company has been Monster Beverage to which the Hansen Beverage Company is now affiliated as a subsidiary . Hansen Natural originally sold juices to retailers and movie studios in Southern California. In 2002, the energy drink Monster Energy Drink was launched. Monster Beverage today describes itself as the market leader in the field of beverages made without artificial additives.

In 2015, the Coca-Cola Company acquired a 16.7% stake in Monster Beverage Corporation for $ 2.15 billion, with an option to increase to 25% over four years. As part of the agreement, Coca-Cola also transferred its energy drinks division to Monster Beverage Corporation; In return, Coca-Cola received worldwide distribution rights and all non-energy beverage brands from it and has since been represented by two members on the Supervisory Board.
