Jonathan Santana is an Argentine-Paraguayan football midfielder. He was born on October 19 1981, in the Capital Federal district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He currently plays for VfL Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga in Germany and Paraguay national team.
Santana started his career at San Telmo of the Argentine 3rd Division. He went on to play for a number of Argentine Primera clubs, including San Lorenzo and River Plate.
In June of 2007, Santana received Paraguayan citizenship (his mother is a Paraguayan citizen), and is expected to be capped for the Paraguayan national team for the 2007 Copa America.
In August 2006 he signed a 5 year contract with Wolfsburg.
