(2622) Bolzano ( 1981 CM ; 1934 CH 1 ; 1972 JJ 1 ; 1972 KB ; 1978 NR 2 ; 1978 OD ; 1979 WN ) is an approximately 14 kilometers large asteroid of the outer main belt that was separated from the Slovak (then : Czechoslovakia ) astronomer Ladislav Brožek was discovered at the Kleť observatory on the Kle Č near Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic ( IAU code 046). It belongs to the Eos family, a group of asteroids named after (221) Eos .

designation

(2622) Bolzano was named on the occasion of his 200th birthday after the Czech mathematician and philosopher Bernard Bolzano (1781–1848). From 1805 to 1819 he was a professor at Charles University .
