(2958) Arpetito ( 1981 DG ; 1969 VJ ; 1972 HM ; 1974 WQ ; 1976 JA ; 1979 YA 2 ; 1983 RQ ) is an approximately nine kilometers large asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on February 28, 1981 by the Belgian astronomer Henri Debehogne and was discovered by the Italian astronomer Giovanni de Sanctis at the La Silla Observatory on La Silla in La Higuera in Chile ( IAU code 809). It belongs to the Koronis family , a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis .
designation
(2958) Arpetito was named after the astronomers Ernesto Ar aya , J. Pe rez , Roberto Ti ghe and A. To rrecon , who prepared the Grand Prism Objectif at the La Silla Observatory.
