(6912) Grimm is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 8 April 1991 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the German writer , journalist , theater and music critic and diplomat Friedrich Melchior Grimm (1723-1807).
