(6935) Morisot is an asteroid of the main inner belt . It was discovered on September 24, 1960 by the Dutch astronomer couple Cornelis Johannes van Houten and Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld . The discovery came about as part of the Palomar-Leiden survey , during which Tom Gehrels examined field plates recorded at the University of Leiden with the 120 cm Oschin Schmidt telescope of the Palomar observatory . The asteroid had already been sighted on September 6, 1953 under the provisional designation 1953 RX 1 at the Palomar Observatory.

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 3.573 (± 0.332) km .

(6935) Morisot was on 1 July 1996 by the French painter of the Impressionist Berthe Morisot named (1841-1895). A Venus crater on the southern hemisphere of the Venus was named after Berthe Morisot in 1994 : Venus crater Morisot .
