(7217) Dacke is an asteroid of the main outer belt , which was discovered on August 22, 1979 by the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809).

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 24.418 (± 0.198) km . The albedo of 0.089 (± 0.015) indicates a rather dark surface.

(7217) Dacke was named on February 11, 1998 after the Swedish peasant and resistance leader Nils Dacke († 1543), the leader of the so-called Dacke uprising against Gustav I. Wasa .
