(8143) Nezval is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on November 11, 1982 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov .
The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 3.802 (± 0.092) km . With an albedo of 0.405 (± 0.074) it has a bright surface for an asteroid.
Mean distance from the sun ( major semi-axis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of the asteroid lie within the respective limit values that are defined for the Nysa group, a group of asteroids named after (44) Nysa (also called Hertha family, according to (135) Hertha ).
(8143) Nezval is named after the Czech poet Vítězslav Nezval (1900–1958). Nezval is considered a co-founder of poetism and a leading figure in Czech surrealism . The designation was made on the proposal of the Czech astronomer Jana Tichá by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) on May 20, 2008.
