Åsa Lindhagen (* 1980 ) is a Swedish politician from the green party Miljöpartiet de Gröna (MP). She has been Minister for Equality and Integration since January 2019.

Life

From 2001 to 2008 Lindhagen studied at Linköping University . From there she holds a master's degree in industrial economics . Between 2005 and 2006 she was also a member of the executive board of the university as chairwoman of the students in technical courses. From 2006 to 2014 she was part of the board of the Swedish branch of Save the Children . Between 2008 and 2012 she worked as a management consultant at Ernst & Young .

Political career

Lindhagen was a member of Stockholm City Council from 2010 to 2019 . She was parliamentary group leader of her party between 2012 and 2014 and then a member of Stockholm's city government until 2018. Her office included the area of ​​responsibility for social affairs. From September 2018 to January 2019 she was a representative for Per Bolund in the Reichstag . On January 21, 2019, she was appointed Minister for Gender Equality and Inclusion in the Löfven II government. She is responsible for equality, segregation and discrimination, children's rights, democracy and human rights as well as the integration of immigrants.

Private

Lindhagen lives in Stockholm and has two children.
