history

The ÖBB needed suitable vehicles for the maintenance of the overhead line on the narrow-gauge Mariazellerbahn. In 1964 the Tobisch and BBC companies supplied two such specially designed tower cars . The X532S series was derived from the ÖBB X532 series . Both vehicles were originally painted red / ivory.

construction

The underframe and the box structure are welded from structural steel and sheet metal, which are supported by leaf springs on the two driven axles. The box consists of a middle section and two stems of different lengths. The hydraulic lifting platform can be reached via a roof hatch. Since the contact line is only 3.9 meters above the top edge of the rail , the handrails of the lift are designed to be foldable. Each vehicle is equipped with a pantograph attached in front of the stage .

technology

The two axles are driven diesel-electric by means of a JW-100 motor and a 70 kW generator in a tatzlager design .

commitment

The vehicles are used on the Mariazellerbahn. One tower car is located in Ober-Grafendorf , the other in Gösing .
