The X432.001 is one of the company & Plasser & Theurer built a railroad maintenance vehicle of the ÖBB .

history

For speed tests on the Westbahn, the ÖBB equipped the section between Linz and Lambach with a line train control . The ÖBB needed a suitable vehicle for the maintenance of these systems and the Indusi magnets . That is why such a vehicle - based on the MTW 100 - was commissioned from Plasser & Theurer in 1991. The result was the one-off X432.001.

construction

The entire mechanical structure is identical to that of the ÖBB X552 series . Social and sleeping areas are connected to the driver's cab . The measuring devices are housed in driver's cab 1. The exhaust gases are discharged via an attachment on the roof.

technology

The drive system is identical to that of the X552 series. It consists of an air-cooled four-stroke - V12 - diesel engine Deutz Bfl 513 with turbocharger and charge air cooling of KHD , a hydrodynamic torque converter with three-speed power shift and a reversing gear . In addition to a direct and an indirect compressed air brake , the test railcar also has a spring-loaded brake .

The test multiple unit X432.001 is stationed in Linz and is used nationwide to measure systems for line train control and inductive train protection.
