history

In 1991, four vehicles of this series were ordered from Plasser & Theurer as successors to the ÖBB X534 series . As it turned out that a normal lifting platform in construction and maintenance operations was not sufficient for most of the work, the vehicles of the X521 series were also given a Palfinger telescopic crane .

construction

The welded frame consists of folded and rolled profiles. The vehicle consists of a platform with a crane, a spacious cabin, a work area and the two driver's cabs . The lift can be reached from the cabin.

technology

The drive takes place on both axes by means of an underfloor KHD - diesel engine with a downstream four-speed power shift transmission . The creep speed is possible with the help of KHD's own auxiliary motor.

commitment

All vehicles of the X521 series are used nationwide in energy plant construction and belong to ÖBB Rail-Equipment GmbH .
