The X627 represents one of Plasser & Theurer built web service vehicle - number of ÖBB group, which may be equipped with different superstructures, depending on requirements.

history

The X627 series was designed for specific track construction work for which the available X626 series was unsuitable. The company Plasser & Theurer was commissioned to design the vehicle , which is referred to as the "standard type" of superstructure wagons (OBW10) and which can be adapted to requirements as required. Since 1974, a total of 26 units of this vehicle series have been purchased, which show numerous differences. The first copies were designated as X627.001 and X627.101. Both vehicles have smaller driver's cabs than the X627s that were purchased later. X627.101 does not have a crane and is therefore only used in the superstructure material store in Linz-Wegscheid in the shunting service. All other vehicles differ from one another in their different cabin and crane designs. The models X627.511 to 514 are specially equipped for winter service - a Beilhack snow blower or a snow plow can be mounted on them.

Based on the X627 series, several types of splitter were created : X627.7 , X627.8 and X627.95 .

construction

The vehicles, which are mounted on two helical-sprung axles and equipped with four shock absorbers for smoother running , have a welded frame made of bent and rolled profiles, which supports the superstructure and at the ends of which the pulling and shocking devices are attached. The superstructures are divided into a driver's cab with two driver's cabs , designed for up to eight people, as well as a loading area that can be tilted on both sides with folding side walls. A telescopic crane is attached to the rear for different applications.

technical features

The underfloor drive system consists of a Deutz four-stroke engine and powershift transmission , as well as a downstream reversing gear . Power is transmitted from the gearbox to the drive wheels by means of cardan shafts . All X627s are equipped with a safety driving circuit and a direct and indirect acting compressed air brake.

commitment

All vehicles of the X627 series (except X627.101) are used throughout Austria for track construction work.
