Úlfar Jón Andrésson (born April 2, 1988 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been under contract with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2012 .

Career

Úlfar Andrésson began his career as a hockey player at Skautafélag Reykjavíkur , where he made his debut in the Icelandic ice hockey league at the age of 14 . In 2006 and 2007 he was national champion with his team . He then moved to Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn . In 2011 he left the capital club and moved to the second Danish division for Amager Ishockey . After a year in Denmark, he returned to Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn in 2007, for whom he has played since then.

International

Úlfar Andrésson played for Iceland as a youngster. He took part in the U18 World Championships in 2003 in Division III, 2004 , 2005 and 2006 in Division II, as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2004 , 2007 and 2008 in Division II and in 2005 and 2006 in Division III.

At the same time, Úlfar Andrésson Jónsson already played in the men's national team . He made his debut as a 17-year-old at the 2005 World Cup in Division II, when the Icelanders had to accept relegation to Division III. Then he played in 2006 with the Northmen in Division III, but where he was immediately promoted again. He then played in Division II at the 2007 , 2008 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 World Championships . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
