Attractions

The main attraction of the place is the wooden church Św. Jadwiga (Saint Hedwig, also Hedwig of Anjou ) from the 17th century. The church, which is surrounded by trees, consists of a hall that does not have a presbytery . The church was completely renovated in 1784. The brick sacristy was built in 1936 according to plans by Lucjan Michałowski . The roof of the sacristy is crowned by a sheet metal helmet with a lantern . Inside the church there are beams with crosses that date from the 16th century. The baroque main altar was built around 1670. In the altar there are pictures from 1866, which depict an offering after a cholera epidemic . In 1959 the roof, which had previously been thatched, was covered with shingles . In 1981 there was another thorough renovation. A wall with an 18th century gate runs around the church.

In 1854 a brick chapel was built as a tomb for the Potocki family in neo-romantic style . There are eight black marble tombs in the chapel . The bell tower from 1863 has a bell installed in 1864, which honors the victory of the Polish-Lithuanian army over the Turks on Kahlenberg near Vienna . From 1975 to 1998 the place was part of the Poznan Voivodeship .
