Şefaatli is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Yozgat . The place is about 40 km south of the provincial capital Yozgat and was (according to city seal) in 1954 raised to the rank of Belediye (municipality).

district

The district, formed in 1954, borders the provinces of Kirsehir and Nevşehir in the southwest . The remaining borders are formed by the districts of Yerköy in the northwest, Yozgat in the northeast and Boğazlıyan and Yenifakılı in the southeast. In addition to the district town (almost 60% of the district's population), the district consists of 43 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 149 residents. The population ranges from 753 ( Paşaköy ) to 33, twelve villages have more than the average (149) inhabitants. The former villages Karalar and Konaklı are since 2018 Mahalles (districts) of the county seat.
