Aydıncık is a city and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Yozgat . The city is located about 50 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Yozgat . According to the city seal, the place has had the status of a Belediye (municipality) since 1967 .
district
The district is in the north of the province. It borders on the Çekerek district to the east, the Sorgun district to the south, the Çorum province to the west and northwest and the Amasya province to the northeast . The D-190 highway from Sungurlu to Turhal crosses the district from west to east and passes Aydıncık about three kilometers to the north. In the northeast the Çekerek Çayı flows through the district. There are foothills of the Buzluk Dağı mountain range with the 1375 meter high Altındağı Tepesi .
The district was formed in 1990 (Law No. 3544) and until then consisted of the Bucak of the same name in the west of the then Çekerek district. In the last census before the change of area (1985) the Bucak Aydıncık had 18,946 inhabitants, that was 25.5% of the then district population.
At the end of 2018, the district of Aydıncık consisted of the district town (28.8% of the district population) with Baydiğin (3,357 inhabitants), another municipality ( Belediye ) and 22 villages ( Köy ) with a total population of 4,049 inhabitants (approx. 39% of the district population ). Kazankaya (1,352 pop .) Is the largest village, with an average of 184 people living in each of the 22 villages. The population density is just below the value for the province.
