Çandır is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Yozgat . The city is located about 90 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Yozgat and was raised to the rank of municipality ( Belediye ) in 1930 .

district

The district is located in the south of the province and is the smallest in the province in terms of area and population. It borders Boğazlıyan County to the west , Çayıralan County to the north and east, and Kayseri Province to the south . A country road connects the district town with Boğazlıyan in the west and Çayıralan in the east.

The district and four others were newly formed on May 20, 1990. Until then he was a Bucak in what was then Çayıralan County. At the last [census] before the change of area (1985) it had 10,909 inhabitants, which corresponded to about 3.1 of the then district population.

At the end of 2018, the district consisted of the district town (78.6% of the district's population) and four villages ( Köy ) with an average of 246 residents. The scale of the population ranged from 311 to 170. The population density was below the provincial value.
