(243002) Lemmy is an asteroid of the main outer belt . It was discovered on October 11, 2006 by the American astronomer Andrew Becker at the Apache Point Observatory ( IAU code 645) in New Mexico .

The asteroid was named on November 14, 2016 after Lemmy Kilmister (1945-2015), the singer and bassist of the rock band Motörhead . In 2014 an asteroid was named after Motörhead: (250840) Motörhead .
