(243073) Freistetter is an asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered by the German amateur astronomer André Knöfel on April 16, 2007 at the 50 cm Cassegrain reflecting telescope of the Saxon public observatory in Drebach ( IAU code 113). André Knöfel actually wanted to observe the asteroid (323195) 2003 QS 48 when he noticed an unknown asteroid, which was given the provisional designation 2007 HT 3 .
The mean diameter of the asteroid was roughly calculated to be 7.181 (± 1.853) km , the albedo of 0.031 (± 0.029) indicates a dark surface.
Its solar orbit is steeply inclined by more than 30 ° in relation to the ecliptic plane . Presumably it comes relatively close to the dwarf planet (1) Ceres , which could influence the orbit of the minor planet (243073) Freistetter.
On January 27, 2013 the asteroid was named after the Austrian astronomer , blogger and book author Florian Freistetter .
