(2811) Střemchoví ( 1980 JA ; 1950 BC ; 1953 TB 3 ; 1955 CB ; 1956 KA ; 1958 VX ; 1972 TH 5 ; 1977 RH 5 ; 1982 US ) is an asteroid about twelve kilometers across the main outer belt . May 1980 by the Czech (then: Czechoslovakia ) astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť observatory on the Kleť near Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic ( IAU code 046). It belongs to the Koronis family , a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis .

designation

(2811) Střemchoví was named after Střemchoví , the village where the explorer Antonín Mrkos was born. It is located in historic Moravia , after which the asteroid (1901) Moravia was named.
