(2935) Naerum ( 1976 UU ; 1982 HW ) is an approximately seven kilometers large asteroid of the central main belt that was discovered on October 24, 1976 by the Danish astronomer Richard Martin West at the La Silla Observatory on La Silla in La Higuera in Chile ( IAU code 809) was discovered.
designation
(2935) Naerum was named after Nærum , a small town 15 kilometers north of Copenhagen . There the explorer Richard Martin West spent the first years of his life in his parents' house. In Nærum, archaeological finds from the Stone and Bronze Ages testify to thousands of years of settlement, as does the current name, which is derived from "Njarthar-heim", the home of Njörðr , god of the sea and his riches in Norse mythology .
