(44613) Rudolf is an asteroid of the main inner belt discovered on September 8, 1999 by the Czech astronomer Petr Pravec and the Slovak astronomer Peter Kušnirák at the Ondřejov observatory ( IAU code 557) in Ondřejov u Prahy .

The asteroid was named after Rudolf II on November 10, 2003 , Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1576 to 1612, King of Bohemia from 1576 to 1612, and King of Hungary and Archduke of Austria from 1576 to 1611 . Rudolf II made Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler his court astronomers. The moon groove Rima Rudolf on the earth's moon , on the other hand, was named after the German first name Rudolf in 1976 .
