(96327) Ullmann is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on March 5, 1997 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809).
The orbit data of the asteroid indicate belonging to the Hungaria group . The 9: 2 orbital resonance with the planet Jupiter is characteristic of this group . The namesake for the Hungaria group is the asteroid (434) Hungaria . The solar orbit of (96327) Ullmann is strongly inclined at more than 22 ° compared to the ecliptic of the solar system , another characteristic of Hungaria asteroids.
The light curve of (96327) Ullmann was examined between June 12 and 24, 2011 by Brian D. Warner at the Palmer Divide Observatory in Colorado . However, the values were inconsistent.
The asteroid was named on April 15, 2014 after the Norwegian actress and director Liv Ullmann . Her acting in the films Persona ( 1966 ) and Herbstsonate ( 1978 ), both by director Ingmar Bergman , is highlighted in the dedication . The asteroid of the outer main belt (10378) Ingmarbergman, also discovered by Eric Walter Elst, was named after Bergman in 2000 .
