Pinewood Studios
The Pinewood Studios are British film studios, which are between pinewoods (English pinewood ) about 32 kilometers west of London on the former property of Heatherden Hall near the village of Iver Heath ( South Bucks ).
history
Pinewood Studios was designed by Charles Boot in 1934 and built in twelve months by the Henry Boot Company of Sheffield . Boot was inspired by the studios in Hollywood . J. Arthur Rank later took over the Pinewood and Denham Film Studios , which were often used by producer Alexander Korda .
The name Pinewood is carried out into the world again and again through the James Bond series . In 1963, SPECTER Island was built in Pinewood Studios for Greetings from Moscow . In 1976 the 007 stage was built, which is converted into a new, imposing backdrop for almost every new film. Immediately for the film The Spy Who Loved Me, a huge water tank was installed for the inside of a super tanker that swallowed submarines.
During the filming of Ridley Scott's Legend , the 007 hall burned to the ground on June 27, 1984, but it was rebuilt by January 1985 and in honor of longtime Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli in Albert R. Broccoli's 007 stage renamed; just in time to start filming In the Face of Death (1985).
On July 30, 2006, Albert R. Broccoli's 007 Stage hall, in which the filming of Casino Royale had just ended , burned down completely. After being demolished in September 2006, it was rebuilt in less than six months.
During the shooting of the 25th James Bond film No Time to Die , the 007Stage was damaged by three explosions on June 4, 2019.
Pinewood is now jointly managed with Shepperton Studios , which also play a leading role in the UK film industry. Both studios are connected to the Sohonet media network and work closely with Missing Ingredients Studio Catering to ensure that the studios are provided with food.
Some films have even left their mark instead of just being shot there. You can discover the legacies of these films with a studio tour.
