2000: Year of the Dragon ( English for '2000: Year of the Dragon') is the ninth studio album by the German Europop duo Modern Talking . It was released on February 28, 2000 under Hansa Records and BMG Music Publishing and sold more than 425,000 copies.

The album was produced by Dieter Bohlen in the usual modern-talking style . As a composer , almost all of the 19 songs on the album come from him . Only Love Is Forever was penned by Thomas Anders and Peter Ries. Luis Rodriguez co-produced the album. Ronald Reinsberg designed the cover .

Rainer Henze from Laut.de wrote about the album: “19 times Modern Talking in the tried and tested genius of composition according to the pattern: Intro - Verse 1 - Chorus (normal), Chorus (eggs off) - Verse 2 - Chori as usual - Abrupt end. In addition, a bloodcurdling one-two-three-four-quarter-time bass drum metronome mutes through all of the 19 songs, all in the same key, the same harmonies. "Monica Stark of Collectionscanada wrote:" Every development you experience in Year of the Dragon is purely coincidental. It happened, but the changes seem to be due more to technology (it's easier to make electronic music than it was in 1983) than to progress made by Modern Talking as a musician. "
