A Walk to Remember - A Walk to Remember (Alternative title time in the wind ) is an American love - drama from the year 2002 . It is based on the novel Zeit im Wind (original title: A Walk to Remember ) by Nicholas Sparks .

action

The film tells the story of two teenagers from North Carolina . On the one hand, there is Jamie, who lives with her father, a pastor, and is known as a quiet and narrow-minded wallflower. On the other hand, Landon, one of the hippest guys in high school .

Cool clothes, new car, all the girls are after him, and what is even more important: Landon loudly sets the tone for the hottest clique. When he once again pushed it too far, he was sentenced to take part in the most uncool project at the school: the theater group. There he meets Jamie, who also helps him with his preparations for the play. He has to promise her that he will not fall in love with Jamie. What Landon doesn't expect is this to happen. After initial difficulties, they go out a few times. Landon only learns late that Jamie is terminally ill with leukemia . Jamie is getting weaker every day. She gives Landon the quotation book (in the book the Bible) of her deceased mother, from which both read together. Landon is there for her and helps her to achieve her life goals. Although they both know that Jamie will die soon, they get married. They have a great summer together until Jamie dies of her illness.

Four years later, Landon visits Jamie's father in Beaufort . He has now been admitted to medical school. He gives Jamie's father the quote book from Jamie's mother. Landon says he is sorry Jamie didn't see her miracle. But the father says that Landon was Jamie's miracle. At the end of the film, Landon is walking by a lake where he had also been with Jamie, and thinks about his time with Jamie ("Jamie saved my life").

Mandy Moore won the MTV Movie Award for best newcomer in 2002 . She won the Teen Choice Award in 2002 for Best Breakthrough and - along with Shane West for Chemistry in Film - another Teen Choice Award; she was also nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Movie.
