Abd al-Ati al-Ubayyidi
Abd al-Ati al-Ubayyidi ( Arabic عبد العاطي العبيدي ʿAbd al-ʿĀṭī al-ʿUbayyidī ; * 1939 ) was head of state and prime minister of Libya .
Al-Ubayyidi was head of state of Libya from March 1, 1979 to January 7, 1981. Before that he was Prime Minister of the country from March 1, 1977 . From 1982 to 1984 he was the country's foreign minister and had been again since April 5, 2011, in the course of the civil war , as successor to Mussa Kussa .
On August 31, 2011, rebel units captured him in Dschansur , west of the Libyan capital Tripoli .
