The Acer Aspire One is a netbook series from Acer , originally based on the Atom platform from Intel .
description
The Aspire One was offered in 2008 with Linpus Linux and 8 GB solid-state drive as well as with Windows XP Home Edition and 120 GB hard drive. The expansion of the main memory was 512 MB to 4 GB depending on the version. The screen had a screen diagonal of 8.9 inches with a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels . All models have 10/100 Mbit Ethernet , 802.11b / g wireless LAN and 3 USB 2.0 ports. There is also extra equipment with Bluetooth and / or UMTS .
The Aspire One is manufactured by Quanta Computer . The Linux version includes OpenOffice.org , while the Windows version includes Microsoft Works . The 3-cell battery lasts around 2.5 to 3 hours, the optionally available 6-cell battery around 5.5 to 7 hours. The webcam has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels.
The Aspire One was the netbook with the largest market share in the fall of 2008 (38.3%), ahead of the direct competitors from Asus and Hewlett-Packard .
Acer now also sells slightly larger models with 10.1 or 11.6 inch displays under the name Aspire One. However, these versions are still clearly part of the netbook in terms of size and features.
