Aces High is a song by Iron Maiden from the year 1984 . It appeared on their Powerslave album . The song tells the story of a British RAF - pilots , who against the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain is fighting (1940). The single reached number 20 on the British Singles Chart . Aces High was by some bands gecovert , among others, Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom . The song was released as the title for the game Madden NFL 10 and was in the MTV telecast Nitro Circus played.
On the B-side was a cover version of Nektar's King of Twilight , from her album A Tab in the Ocean (1972).
