Career
Adam Hansen began his international career in 2003 with the Austrian cycling team Graz Merida Arbö . In 2005 he moved to Elk Haus . He received his first contract with a UCI ProTeam in the 2007 season with the German T-Mobile team and stayed with this or the successor teams until the end of the 2010 season. For this team he finished his first with the Vuelta a España 2007 as 88th Grand Tour . In 2008 he was the Australian time trial champion . In 2010 he switched to the Omega Pharma-Lotto team - for which he won the overall ranking and a stage of the Ster Elektrotoer - and in 2012 to the successor Lotto Belisol Team .
Hansen, who achieved his greatest successes to date with solo victories on the seventh stage of the Giro d'Italia 2013 and on the 19th stage of the Vuelta a España 2014 , developed into a specialist in stage races and finished his thirteenth with the Vuelta a España 2015 " Grand Tour ”in a row, which means a single record. When he finished the Tour de France in 2017 as 113th, he expanded this record to 18 Grand Tour participations in a row, but was not on the starting list for the subsequent Vuelta a España 2017 . Due to the failure of one of his teammates, he was able to take part in the Tour of Spain and finished the race in 95th place. With the Giro d'Italia 2018 he finished his 20th Grand Tour and 60th. He did not start the subsequent Tour de France 2018 .
