Lotto-Soudal is a Belgian cycling team based in Herentals . The main sponsors are the Belgian lottery Lotto and the Soudal company . Lotto was previously a sponsor of the Omega Pharma Lotto team.
organization
Since the two main sponsors of the Omega Pharma Lotto team could not agree on a common strategy for the future, the joint commitment ended at the end of 2011. Lotto and its co-sponsors, who are also focused on the Belgian market, wanted an almost exclusively Belgian drive Put together a ProTeam . Although this team took over a large part of the sporting management and driver base of Omega Pharma-Lotto , it was not managed by its operating company Belgian Cycling Company SA and did not take over the existing ProTeam license, but was licensed by the UCI as a new team. As with the Rabobank team, a Continental team with the same name should take over the work for the young. Here, too, priority, if not exclusively, young Belgian talent should be promoted.
The Belgian Marc Sergeant , who previously worked in the same role at Omega Pharma-Lotto , has become the team manager. He is supported by two sporting directors who will also come from Omega Pharma-Lotto. The names are Herman Frison , who has been with the Lotto team since 1993, and Mario Aerts , who ended his active career at the end of 2011 and has been working with Marc Sergeant since 1998.
At the end of 2012, the team joined the Mouvement Pour un Cyclisme Crédible .
