Adax Dörsam (born August 7, 1955 in Mannheim-Lindenhof ) is a guitarist , arranger , producer and composer .

Life

Dörsam comes from a musical family. His brothers Matthias and Franz-Jürgen are also active as musicians. In 1974 he finished his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim with a focus on classical guitar. He then worked as a banjo player in the Mannheim National Theater in the Schauspielhaus (two ties / three penny opera ). At the same time he was active in rock and blues bands in the Mannheim and Odenwald scene, for example in the Mannheim “Rock'n Roll Circus”. In addition to the guitar , Dörsam also plays numerous other exotic plucked instruments .

He made rock guitar instructional videos in 1990. In 1993 the collaboration with the songwriter Joana began , with CD productions and concerts. In 1995/96 tours with the German singer Pe Werner and the French accordionist Lydie Auvray followed.

He worked with Rolf Zuckowski , Xavier Naidoo , Tony Marshall , Lou Bega , DePhazz , Johnny Logan , Clemens Bittlinger , Ken Hensley ( Uriah Heep ), Black ( Schobert and Black ), die Flippers , Edward Simoni , Pe Werner , Manuela , Joana , Lydie Auvray , Claus Boesser-Ferrari , Hans Reffert , Mike Batt , Ricky King, Michael Bauer , Anselm Grün, Matthias Holtmann, Peter Grabinger, Uschi Nerke and Joy Fleming.

Dörsam has been working with his two brothers Matthias Dörsam and Franz-Jürgen Dörsam as TRIO 3 D since 2003. Since 2008 he has participated in ship trips as an artist with the “Flower Power Men” on the cruise ships Artania , Amadea and Albatros . He has been touring regularly with Clemens Bittlinger since 2003, for the first time at the 1st ecumenical church convention under the Brandenburg Gate. During this time, the collaboration with Hans-Peter Schwöbel began , which resulted in two audio books. From 2008 at MTV unplugged “Wettsingen in Schwetzingen” until 2011, Adax Dörsam played in Xavier Naidoo's band .

In 2010 he became a freelancer for Akustik Guitar magazine .

In 2014 he presented a show with the presenter Uschi Nerke & The Flower Power Men. In 2015 Dörsam released the CD Land des Smiles , in which he and Claus Boesser-Ferrari performed an avant-garde instrumental interpretation of the famous operetta by Franz Lehár . On the CD The Winnetou Tapes , the two interpreted the melodies by Martin Böttcher from the Karl May films . In 2018 Dörsam recorded the audio book Herzkeks with the writer Michael Bauer .

He also composed film music for Südwestrundfunk , Arte , Westdeutscher Rundfunk and other broadcasters in his own recording studio and works with Happy Records / Ring Musik / Weinberger Verlag.
