The FFH area Adelegg is located in the extreme southeast of Baden-Württemberg and is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas . It was registered in 2005 by the Tübingen regional council. With the ordinance of the regional council of Tübingen on the definition of areas of community importance of November 5, 2018, the protected area was established.

location

The approximately 633 hectare (ha) large protected area Adelegg lies in the natural areas Adelegg and Westallgäuer Hügelland . The twelve sub-areas are located in the communities Isny im Allgäu and Leutkirch im Allgäu in the district of Ravensburg.

description

The nature of the landscape of the protected area is essentially determined by the largely wooded, alpine ridge of the Adelegg , which is structured by deeply cut ravines and valleys. On the steep slopes there are ravine and hillside mixed forests, in the higher areas there are high pastures with poor grassland biotopes.

Contiguous protected areas

The FFH area is almost entirely in the Adelegg bird sanctuary . On the Bavarian side, the FFH area is connected to the Kürnacher Wald .
