Schussenbecken and Schmalegger Tobel
The area of Schussenbecken and Schmalegger Tobel was a protected area (SG number DE-8323341) in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg designated by the Tübingen regional council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . In 2015 it was integrated into the FFH area Schussenbecken with ravine forests south of Blitzenreute .
location
The approximately 908 hectare (hectare) large protected area Schussenbecken and Schmalegger Tobel belonged naturally to the Lake Constance basin and the Upper Swabian hill country . Its partial areas were at an altitude of 398 to 654 m above sea level. NHN and extended to 23 percent (= 208.1 ha) in Bodenseekreis ( Eriskirch , Friedrichshafen , Meckenbeuren , Tettnang ) and 77 percent (= 696.7 ha) in the district of Ravensburg ( Baienfurt , Baindt , mountain , Fronreute , Horgenzell , Ravensburg , Weingarten , Wolpertswende ).
The sub-areas essentially comprised the valley of the Schussen between Mochenwangen in the north and its confluence with Lake Constance between Eriskirch and Langenargen , its tributaries such as Eltishofer Ach , Güllenbach, Schwalbenbach, Schwarzach and Wolfegger Ach and the Schmalegger Tobel .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose was the preservation of the continuous watercourse system with ditches, near-natural and developed streams, near-natural and developed river sections, two forest areas with beech forest, mixed slope forest and former hardwood alluvial forest, as well as still waters and fens .
Habitats
The diversity of habitat types , with largely natural forests and poor, lowland hay meadows, is mainly characterized by the following habitats: moist and mesophilic grassland (32%), mixed forest (23%) and deciduous forest (17%).
