The FFH area Schussenbecken with Tobelwäldern south of Blitzenreute was created in 2015 by amalgamating the three existing FFH areas beech forests near Fronhofen , Tobelwälder near Blitzenreute as well as Schussenbecken and Schmalegger Tobel in the south of the German state of Baden-Württemberg . These former areas were registered in 2005 by the Tübingen regional council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . With the ordinance of the regional council of Tübingen on the definition of areas of community importance of November 5, 2018, the protected area was established.

location

The 1388 hectare protected area Schussenbecken with ravine forests south of Blitzenreute naturally belongs to the Lake Constance basin and the Upper Swabian hill country . Its 18 partial areas are at an altitude of 395 to 712  m above sea level. NHN and extend to 14.5% in the Bodenseekreis (communities Eriskirch , Friedrichshafen , Meckenbeuren and Tettnang ) and to 85.5% in the district of Ravensburg (communities Baienfurt , Baindt , Berg , Fronreute , Horgenzell , Ravensburg , Weingarten , Wilhelmsdorf and Wolpertswende ) .

The sub-areas essentially include the course of the Schussen from Mochenwangen with some tributaries.
