The Bodensee Hinterland area near Überlingen is a protected area (SG number DE-8221-341) in the south-east that was designated by the Tübingen Regional Council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) from January 1, 2005 of the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg .
location
The around 335 hectare nature reserve Lake Constance hinterland near Überlingen belongs to the Lake Constance basin , Hegau and the Upper Swabian hill country . Its eight sub-areas are at an altitude of 411 to 674 m above sea level. NHN and extend into the communities of Frickingen , Owingen , Salem and Uhldingen-Mühlhofen, which are part of the Lake Constance district , as well as the city of Überlingen .
The sub-areas include the area between Billafingen in the north-west, Hohenbodman in the north, the "Großer Wiesen" north of Salem in the west and the valley of the Nellenflurbach near Uhldingen in the south.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the landscape shaped by the Ice Age with deeply incised ravines , near-natural flowing waters , meadows and ponds .
Habitat types
The variety of habitat types such as drumlins , near-natural ravine forests, meltwater channels and landslides are evidence of glacial and post-glacial landscape development. The protected area is characterized mainly by the following habitats: mixed forest as well as moist and mesophilic grassland (25% each), deciduous forest (17%) and inland water (12%).
