Adoro is the first studio album from the classic / pop project Adoro . It was published on November 21, 2008 We Love Music , a sub-label of Universal . The album received gold status in Austria in 2009 and double platinum in Germany . Due to the success of the album, the Adoro group was nominated twice for the Echo 2009 Music Prize, namely as Group of the Year (national) and Newcomer of the Year (national) .

Emergence

Producer Andy Lutschounig had the idea to record an album with classic pop songs. In the course of the casting in his Berlin recording studio, the Adoro project came together and began with the first recordings. In the fall of 2007, Adoro signed a record deal with Universal Music . The album was recorded in Soda Music Studio in Berlin and in Studio 22 in the Hungarian capital Budapest . With the exception of the overture , the finale and the original composition Engel , Adoro interprets well-known pop pieces . They are accompanied by the Budapest Film Orchestra with a symphony orchestra , the arrangements are by Florian Philipp Mueller, Stefan Schrupp, Gregor Narholz and producer Lutschounig.

reception

Tobias Litterst from laut.de writes that Adoro created the ideal album “for all those who enjoy kitsch, predictability and well-known hits”. Most of the pieces begin calmly and increase to polyphonic chorus repetitions, which spread “plenty of kitsch and pathos”. Rainer Molz from monsters & critics praises the selection of songs as “well dosed and well thought out”; it appeals to listeners aged 15 to 95. The album exudes "the most delicate feelings and tons of romance and enthusiasm". Maximilian Nitzke from cdstarts.de thinks the album is “too limited”, the artists fail to break the line between classical and pop music. He thinks it would be better if Adoro would interpret pieces written especially for them instead of cover versions.
