Air Line Pilots Association, International
The Air Line Pilots Association (also: Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l ) (ALPA) is by a collective agreement regulated employee representatives for more than 61,000 commercial pilots from 35 different US and Canadian carriers. It is headquartered in Washington, DC
history
ALPA was founded in 1931 and is a member of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations and the Canadian Labor Congress , two major umbrella organizations of North American trade unions. At the beginning of August 2013 it was announced that Lori Garver , the previous deputy director of NASA, would serve as general manager of the Air Line Pilots Association.
