Air Sylhet refers to the former British airline Air Sylhet PLC and its Austrian subsidiary Air Sylhet AG . The name is derived from the Sylhet region in Bangladesh , from which some of the founders come.

Route network

Air Sylhet was based on Vienna Airport , which, according to Air Sylhet, was suitable as a hub for flights between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Air Sylhet planned flights to London-Stansted , Manchester and Dubai from December 2008 . In April 2009 a connection was established from Birmingham via Vienna to Amritsar in India . However, irregularities occurred with this new connection and the route was discontinued.

fleet

Air Sylhet initially used an Airbus A320-200 with 180 seats leased from SmartLynx . A Boeing 757-200 leased from Gadair was used briefly on the Birmingham – Vienna – Amritsar route. This has since been sold to FedEx .
