The LTU Austria , last briefly Flynext was an Austrian charter airline based in Vienna .

history

The LTU Billa Lufttransport Unternehmens GmbH was founded in Schwechat in 2004 by the Düsseldorf-based LTU and the Austrian grocer Billa (which, like LTU, belongs to the Rewe Group ). In 2006, Billa left the joint company and was replaced by the Intro Aviation of the German entrepreneur and dba main owner Hans Rudolf Wöhrl , who had previously also joined the parent company LTU. The Austrian company now operated as LTU Flug Lufttransport Unternehmens GmbH until it was renamed flynext Luftverkehrgesellschaft mbH in 2007 .

At the beginning of 2008, the fleet was transferred to Air Berlin and as a result, its own flight operations were discontinued. In 2011 the company was liquidated after the headquarters had previously been relocated to Vienna. Wöhrl also used the name Flynext from 2011 for a new German airline that later traded under the name Germania Express and ceased operations in 2012.
