Common Sky A&N Luftfahrt GmbH is an Austrian charter airline for business jets based in Linz and based at Linz Airport .

Companies

Common Sky was founded as mapjet (IATA Code: AQ and ICAO Code: MPJ until 2012) in 2002 and is 100% owned by MAP Holding GmbH , which in turn is 50% owned by MN Privatstiftung and PAF Privatstiftung . MAP Holding later became the property of the paf private foundation.

On December 27, 2011, the Linz-based subsidiary, map.management + planning gmbh , which represented the original "mapjet", filed for bankruptcy . The Creditreform stated that the liabilities amounted to 4.3 million euros. At this point in time, the aircraft were largely operating under the AOC of the existing subsidiary map executive flight service gmbh . In the course of the restructuring process, the company moved its headquarters to Linz under the new name Common Sky in 2012 . A decommissioned Airbus A310-300 (OE-LMP) remains in the possession of MAP Management + Planning GmbH.

Austriair project

The former mapjet planned to offer international scheduled flights from Vienna-Schwechat airport from April 2010 . Initially, the name Austriair was planned for this, but it was abandoned after protests by Austrian Airlines .

On April 28, 2010, flight operations to Munich and Frankfurt am Main should begin . The airline was also targeting the flights to Russia operated by Austrian Airlines at the beginning of 2010 . MAPJet set itself by its own account with the Russian government concerning the traffic rights in connection and the Austrian Ministry of Transport 's status as flag carrier requested. Instead of the initially planned three leased Embraer 195s with 100 seats each, a De Havilland DHC- 8-400 with 72 seats and an Embraer 190 with 100 seats were to be used.

However, on April 21, 2010, what was then mapjet announced that it would discontinue the Austriair project .

fleet
