Jetalliance was an Austrian airline based in Kottingbrunn that specialized in business flights .
history
Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer founded AVIA Consult Flugbetriebs-GmbH in 1989 because he discovered that there were not enough good offers available in the business aviation sector. Seven years later, Frank Stronach founded Magna Air Luftfahrt GmbH, which was a wholly-owned subsidiary . A Falcon 900B and a Cessna Citation V Ultra were bought.
Six more jets were bought by 1999, including a Learjet . In 2000 the company went public and was renamed Jetalliance Flugbetriebs AG. Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer ( CEO ) first received all the shares, but he sold 25% of the shares to Norbert Winkler, who became a member of the board. Starting in 2002, the company expanded eastwards and acquired the first long-haul aircraft of the Gulfstream IV , Gulfstream V and McDonnell Douglas MD-83 VIP .
In 2004, the sister company AC Aircraft Sales & Consulting was founded, which mainly sells new aircraft from the manufacturer Cessna . Second-hand aircraft from all manufacturers are also sold. In the same year Jetalliance bought a Boeing 737 VIP with 40 seats and set up new bases in Bulgaria, England, Kuwait, Romania, Russia and Ukraine.
In 2005, the company ordered 20 new business jets, which were delivered beginning in 2006. The Jetalliance Racing Team was founded to increase its profile . In 2006, the JA flight school at Vöslau-Kottingbrunn airfield was approved as a training facility by Austro Control .
In 2007 the company was converted back into a GmbH and the number of board members was increased to three. AC Aircraft Sales und Consulting GmbH has been named the most successful international dealer by Cessna after selling 65 business jets.
In November 2012, the company filed for bankruptcy , the claims amount to around EUR 28.9 million. In October 2013 it was decided to close and dissolve the company.
