GlobeAir is an Austrian charter airline based in Hörsching near Linz , which serves business and private customers.

Companies

GlobeAir AG was founded in 2007 in Hörsching. The first aircraft was delivered in 2008. The company operates the world's largest fleet of Cessna Citation Mustang jets. In 2012, the company founded a business jet alliance with seven European partner airlines .

It has been a member of the European Business Aviation Association since 2010 and of the Baltic Air Charter Association since 2011 .

Business model

The company's business model is primarily based on small aircraft, the very light jets . As a justification for the choice of these aircraft, the managing director Bernhard Fragner cites that 85 percent of business travelers would fly alone or in pairs. Four-seater planes have an economic advantage over conventional 7-seater private jets. The definition of a homogeneous fleet with the same aircraft is associated with cost advantages in terms of maintenance and utilization.

It is precisely with these small aircraft that landings are also possible at smaller airports that cannot be used for large aircraft, such as St. Moritz, Lugano or St. Tropez and many others, and are therefore sought after by business travelers who have less time and space to travel to their destinations. Also is the check-in time shorter than at major airports.

In order to reduce empty flights , the individual machines in the fleet do not return to a fixed base, but instead stay at the last destination they flew to, from where they only continue to fly when they are booked or requested.

In order to guarantee the highest possible utilization, GlobeAir concentrates its flight operations around a large number of European hubs . This enables the company to operate the maximum number of permitted flights per day.

The maintenance center at Linz Airport is certified ( CAMO ) to carry out all maintenance work on Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft. Maintenance is supported by the companies Cessna and the engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney .
