Ajax Cape Town Football Club is a football club from Parow , a suburb of Cape Town . The club plays in the highest South African league, the Premier Soccer League .
history
In 1999 Ajax Amsterdam bought shares in the two clubs Seven Stars and Cape Town Spurs and formed a new club from them with the aim of training African talents on site. The club is a subsidiary of the Dutch top club and acts as a youth academy for hopeful African talents. The joint project also includes friendly matches against each other.
One of the club's greatest successes was winning the Rothmans Cup , the South African league cup. Furthermore, the 2007 ABSA Cup , the South African cup competition, was won. In the 2010/11 season, Ajax CT missed the possible win of its first championship title on the last day of the game with a 2-2 draw against Maritzburg and had to let the Orlando Pirates pass.
